Privacy

Pipe & Tone standards

What the public site receives, what browser audio tools process, and what happens when a reader contacts the journal by email.

Public browsing

The public site has no reader accounts, newsletter form, comments, checkout, or behavioural advertising. Hosting systems may keep technical request logs needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

Microphone and audio tools

A tuner requests microphone access only after a reader starts it. Pitch analysis runs in the browser and is not designed to upload or save a recording. Audio output begins after a reader action.

Email enquiries

When a reader emails [email protected], the message, address, and attachments pass through the reader's email service and the journal's mailbox provider. The information is used to review and answer the enquiry.

External services

Following an external link or loading an external resource can send connection information to that provider. External sites set their own privacy terms.

Changes to collection

If the site adds analytics, advertising technology, uploads, accounts, payments, comments, or a newsletter, this page must identify the service and purpose before readers are asked to use it.
